AfroHTA network secretariat is coordinated by the (Health Economics Research Unit) of the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust

Governance

AfroHTA is a member driven and voluntary network, that is governed by the following organs:

AfroHTA council

The Afro HTA council shall comprise of at least two members from each member country, with at least representation from academic/research institution and policy maker agency/MOH respectively. The council shall hold quarterly meetings

AfroHTA management board

The AfroHTA management board is the decision-making body of the network. The management board is responsible for the strategic leadership of the network and will include defining objectives, mobilizing resources, allocating responsibilities, and reviewing progress on the implementation of defined objectives. The management board term is two years and the decisions made by the management board are consensus-based. The management board will be composed of four members of the Council, and the network coordinator. Council members who are HTA institutions or government HTA units take precedence in being members of the management board over Council members who are not HTA institutions or government HTA units. The board shall hold monthly meetings.

AfroHTA Network Secretariat

The network secretariat will oversee the day to day running and coordination of the network and will provide a network coordinator. The Secretariat shall be an organisation designated by the Board. The term of the secretariat is three calendar years (the 1st of January to the 31st of December).
